It depends on orientation, pitch, shading and the condition of the roof itself. South-facing is ideal, but east and west facing roofs can still perform well, particularly as a pair. What matters is that an installer assesses your actual roof rather than assuming, and that is what the professionals we introduce will do.
Not always. A battery earns its place when your household uses most of its electricity in the evening, after the panels have stopped generating. If you are home during the day, panels alone may serve you well. It is a usage question, not a product question, which is why the enquiry asks how you use electricity if you know.
If an electric car is on your horizon, it is worth deciding now, because the charger, the battery and the panels share the same consumer unit and the same design conversation. Fitting them together is usually tidier and avoids paying twice for electrical work. The enquiry asks so the installers we introduce can design for it.
Most domestic installations fall under permitted development, though listed buildings, conservation areas and flat-roof systems can be exceptions. The installers we introduce will confirm what applies to your property and handle the notifications an installation requires.
The professional you choose does, directly with you. Kalvaro makes the introduction and takes no part in pricing, so we neither set nor guarantee what the work will cost, and we do not publish payback figures we cannot stand behind.
Panels last decades, so fitting them over a roof covering near the end of its life means paying to remove and refit them later. If your roof is tired, it is far better to deal with it first, and we can introduce roofing professionals alongside the solar conversation.
